Intermediate + Advanced Jewelry Fabrication and is taught by Emma Macchiarini.

This is generally a beginning fabrication class. You do not need to have any prior experience with metalworking, or art to take this class. However, if you do have some experience, this class can be helpful anyway. I tend to work to the level of the participants. Since classes are fairly small, this is very manageable.

In this class you will create:

  • Three to Five personal choice projects that you will be lead through step by step with the instructor.

In creating these projects you may learn:

  • Plate metal rolling, three-dimensional metal forming techniques

  • Soldering

  • Use of the jewelers saw, and metal files

  • General orientation of the use of the flex shaft, bits and burrs

  • Finish work such as machine polishing, use of the metal pickle and sonic cleaner.

  • Intermediate bezel stone setting techniques

  • Prong setting, and faceted stone setting

  • wax model making and CASTING

  • Riveting and cold connections

  • Hinge and clasp making

  • Enamels

This is an 6 week session. The class meets on Friday for 3 hours from 6-9pm.

Our Covid-19 safety policies include doing an at home self screening before coming to class. We respectfully request that all persons attending classes observe quarantines, and stay home if sick. Thank you for understanding.

Select a session from the drop down menu below. The full price of the class is $400

Please sign up for Winter to hold your spot! Thank you.
