Making it your own…
This is a wonderful place to experience the joy of hand fabrication, casting, and Jewelry creation. A hands on, , somatic approach to jewelry making is encouraged. This method echoes a not so distant past of traditional craft which Emma Macchiarini experienced by working with her Grandfather Peter in his San Francisco studio. Here we foster the growth of crafts people who are familiar with the activity and process of the bench Jeweler. There is not a matriculation process, or certificate, but by being in this space, students will gain access to a tradition of creating wearable art, and the opportunity to stretch artistic boundaries of Jewelry craft.
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty
This is the place you come to try things. Whether you are an absolute beginner, or a seasoned practitioner who needs a brush up, you can gain something by taking a class. This is a great opportunity to take an art class that doesn’t require you to be an artist! The most important thing about being here is that you get to play, safely, with all the tools. You will be guided through steps, but not necessarily told what to do. You may find yourself on a unique creative journey all your own.
